The horticultural chroma key process facilitates the production of high resolution digital images for use in renderings. The process mimics the chroma key methods commonly used in digital video production.
The Process:
1) Photograph the label or identify the the plant accurately
2) Select the appropriate location to photograph the plant in "elevation" where the center of distortion from the camera lens is centered on the middle of the plant
3) place a blue background behind the specimen
4) take the photo
5) select out the background chroma key color and replace it with a solid color background in photoshop
6) Name the image after the species (rudbeckia.psd)
7) Upload a high resolution to www.digitalhortorium.blogspot.com and create a new post
8) Name the blog post using, genus, species and your name
9) Use the digital images in future renderings
